Acupuncture

Noted physician, Dr. Frank Lipman, perhaps says it best,
If you’re not bouncing out of bed with energy every morning, you’re not living at 100 percent capacity.  If you feel tired during the day, your aches and pains are getting worse, you’re putting on weight, you feel you’re aging too quickly, or you’re not as strong as you used to be – these are all signs you’re not functioning at 100 percent . . . These aren’t just signs that you’re getting old but that you might have an imbalance  your traditional doctor isn’t treating . . . Basically, what we accept as normal is living at 60 to 70 percent of optimal function.

Acupuncture and Classical Chinese medicine can help you to live at optimal capacity. Acupuncture has been recognized by the National Institute of Health for treating a long list of symptoms ranging from general stress to insomnia to tennis elbow, to migraines, to gastrointestinal issues. Several tools are used in creating the most beneficial treatment plan. Listed blow, are a few applications that might be used to address one’s health concerns. Silver Current can help you function with more energy and less pain than you thought possible.

GuaSha

GuaSha is a traditional ancient Chinese healing technique that dates back over two thousand years. Gua means to scrape or rub. Sha is a “reddish, elevated, millet-like skin rash’. This technique is used to promote “qi” or bioelectric vital life energy and blood circulation as well as the removal of toxic heat, stagnant blood and lymph fluid from the body. The method of applying Gua Sha involves the layering of Gua Sha oil on the skin. The skin is then scraped in the area of discomfort. This action helps to remove toxic debris, and replacing it with fresh oxygenated, nutrient rich fluid, which in turn accelerates regeneration and revitalization of the region.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy is an ancient technique which creates suction on the skin, through the use of glass or plastic cups, that pulls stagnant intercellular fluid to the surface. The suction helps to trigger the lymphatic system, release toxins in the body, clear blood vessels, colon blockages and improve stretch marks.

Moxa

Moxa is an application of heat used on a particular part of the body or acupuncture point. It is obtained from the herbal plant ‘Arternisia Vulgaris’, also commonly called mugwort. This application is used to provide biogenic heat which helps to stimulate flow of qi, improve blood flow and helpful in maintaining good health.

Tuina

Tuina is a type of Oriental bodywork which incorporates a combination of acupressure and massage.  It is best suited for rectifying chronic pain, musculoskeletal conditions and stress-related disorders that affect the digestive and/or respiratory systems.
